Dear Family and Friends, ]
We wanted to let you all know that our peanut, Bryce, did not get good news today. He has tested positive with a rare genetic disorder called Krabbe disease, for which there is no cure. The average life expectancy of a child diagnosed with this disease is 13 months. The doctors were not able to tell us exactly where Bryce is at, but estimated he was somewhere between stage 1 and 2 of a total of 3 stages. The first symptoms of Krabbe disease causes children to gradually lose their developmental skills. We noticed this in Bryce and have been extremely concerned during the last couple weeks. After being in and out of doctor office’s and the hospital, this diagnosis was finally confirmed today. At this point, our emotions are going in a hundred different directions and we are very uncertain to what our immediate future looks like. Bryce’s condition is going to progressively worsen over time, so we plan on loving him to the fullest each and every day. Thanks to all of you for the prayers and blessings and I’m sure we are going to need a lot more in the months to come. Also thank you to everyone who has offered support and the willingness to help us through this difficult time.
Love, Kyle and Jenna
